Hits daily limits causing interrupted sessions and now its monthly limits. Help/clarity needed.

I am trying to get around Kiro IDE but have been restrained by the daily limits since last week(since I got the access). Even for a very simple prompt, it generates nice requirements, then designs and then implementation plans(task mostly 10-11), they look good and spec driven agent is something worth exploring. However, the daily limits usually runs out at task 3-4 leaving me hanging. So in one session, in one days limits, was not able to finish a single working app which is built from ground up with help of kiro. tried splitting, resuming the tasks in subsequent days, but the flow get broken for me.
I have not yet attempted to finalize project for submission, as the litmus tests with Kiro IDE is kind of not getting finished.

Today there was an update, and it turns out that the daily limits is now moved to monthly limit. I was displayed that the monthly limit is reached while I was trying to fit project within the daily limits. So it seems I am forced to wait until next month to reset the limits or purchase plan. As per the pricing plan, there are no quota for spec driven requests in free plans! So it would seem the half baked projects will never be completed with Kiro IDE help, which was the whole point of this hackathon.

can someone please check if there are any ways to workaround these limits for the hackathon projects. Hoping to finish project with Kiro IDE and submit.
Thank you.

Yes, Kiro created 200 errors, I do not see how it is possible to fix them with these limits unfortunately

I remember it was stated we needn't buy something for th hackthon. But I can't find in the rules now.

same here like how can we name it a hackathon

I also hit the monthly limits and cannot move forward.

    The same thing.
This hackathon raises more an more questions.
First, we waited long time to get access.
Now we cannot finish the project because of limit-hitting.
To be honest, Kiro failed to complete my project through vibe and spec functionality both.
It frequently hangs into perpetual error-handling loop, eating tokens and nothing is corrected.
As a result, we get buggish and absolutely unsuitable for production project.
Perhaps, it is just the case with web applications (as I tried to create one myself within the framework of this so-called hackathon).
And it is not clear whether manual code editing and app polishing is allowed, or everything should be coded by Kiro AI.

i am also getting this error - You've reached your monthly usage limit. Please return next month to continue building.

same here. no answer from organizers!

What a joke it is to not offer a Pro Subscription, especially when you are limiting the number of participants and offering them a unique access code!

@Devpost team, please check if at least the daily limits can be reinstated, in place of no platform access. It looks like pruning on top of the 10k participant mark, with all the access issues/limits seen since the launch of hackathon.
@Kiro Team, hope you are working on this to fix.

Hi everyone, we're still waiting to hear back from the Kiro team. There are Kiro team members in their Discord answering questions as well -- https://discord.gg/kirodotdev

Please give a solution as fast as possible.
100 Bonus Credits + 50 Free Credits are not at all sufficient to build.

Same. Got the message - hit monthly usage limit. No limits was mentioned when the access code was provided.

    Discord Announcements:
##1: We hear your feedback that pricing isn't working for how many of you use Kiro. There were also some inconsistencies in how many Vibes and Specs Kiro consumes per request that we are looking into. We are taking all your input and evaluating how we can improve. We are working on an update and will share details later this week. In the meantime, please continue to share your feedback on Discord.

##2 I want to give you a quick update on the changes we recently announced for Kiro.

First, we have heard many of you are surprised by how quickly you are using included requests. We are surprised as well! As we have dug into this, we have discovered that we introduced a bug when we rolled out pricing in Kiro where some tasks are inaccurately consuming multiple requests. That’s causing people to burn through their limits much faster than expected. The team is actively working on a fix for this issue which we expect to roll out in a couple of days. We will also be resetting the limits of any users impacted by this bug.

We’ve also heard more general concerns that the current limits don’t give you enough room to get meaningful work done. We believe that much of this perception is coming from the aforementioned issue which is causing users to deplete their limits faster than intended. We set our limits based on actual customer behavior during the preview, and we continue to believe that we have defined the tiers in a way that Kiro will provide exceptional value for both casual and professional users. However, considering the confusion caused by the bug, we have decided to not charge for the month of August. This will allow you to experience the limits before committing to paying and give us additional time to ensure we selected these limits appropriately. If you have already been charged for August, we will refund you.

We’re sorry for the headache this rollout has caused. We are excited about Kiro and we want to make sure that Kiro provides compelling value. Thanks for helping us throughout the preview with all the excellent feedback, and we look forward to hearing more as you get a chance to experience the new metering without the bug.

When will the problem be resolved?
I still see the message that I've hit the monthly limit.

    24th July-- registered for hackathon
07th Aug-- Received Kiro Access Code.
08th Aug-- installed Kiro, checked some code generated, Hits Daily limit. Okay, will wait for next day(timezone? keep guessing)
09th to 15th-- tried Kiro, hits Daily Limit, wait to continue next day.
16th Aug-- No Daily Limits, Buy or wait to reset monthly limits with pricing/requests bug.
16th till today-- Kiro is still working on the bug in pricing and reintroducing preview limits.

its like 14days wait time to get access, 4-5/8 days getting around Kiro IDE with hard limits, another 14 days wait time till limits reset(unless the access is restored.
For a small project, if the limits are not enough, then how would one expect production grade project built with this IDE>
Not a good experience, to be honest.

I started finishing the remaining tasks 4 to 10 out of 12, did well. however after finishing the 10th task I realized the agent only created boilerplate for the initial goal of refactoring 1 single file(1800+line code) into better structure but it forgot to migrate the functions/code from this bigger file into smaller, structured files. ;) by this time it has already consumed about 60-60 requests. then I took upon actual code migration, which it attempted but before everything was working, limits hit again. Yes its monthly Limit.

is there any difference between hackathon participant limits and public non-hackathon preview limit?
