Linux Users: Kiro app freezes on login - any workarounds?

Hi everyone!

Excited to be participating in the Code with Kiro Hackathon!

I've run into a technical issue on Linux that's currently blocking my progress, and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this or has found a solution.

The Problem: On Linux (Ubuntu 24.04), the Kiro app launches fine, but it completely freezes when I try to log in via any method (GitHub, Google, etc.). The app shows a "redirecting to browser" screen, but the browser never opens, and the app becomes unresponsive.

I've already filed a detailed bug report on GitHub with all the technical logs and diagnostics. You can see it here for the full context:

My questions for the community and organizers are:
1. Has anyone else on Linux encountered this and found a workaround?
2. Is there an alternative way to authenticate or use the app for the hackathon?
