Request to Join,Already Have Kiro Access & Project in Progress

Hi team,
I was aware of the Code with Kiro hackathon even before it started, and I had already started working on my project well before the start date. I also have Kiro IDE access and have been actively developing my submission.
Unfortunately, I didn’t click the “Register” button on Devpost in time. In most hackathons, registration remains open until the submission deadline, so I didn’t expect it to close early. I later found out that registration was capped due to the high demand for Kiro access — but since I already have access, I was not impacted by the waitlist issue.
Given that I am fully eligible, have access to Kiro, and am already far along with my project, I kindly request to be added to the participant list so I can officially submit my work.

Unfortunately we have capped the registration at this point. Please look out for future Kiro hackathons.

    Hi Janet,

I’m deeply disappointed to hear that entrants who have long been working on their submissions may now be excluded. For the past six weeks, this competition has been my primary focus. When I first learned about the 10k cap, the clarification I saw stated it applied only to the waitlist — so, as an existing Kiro user, I assumed it didn’t apply to me.

I even registered on Devpost early, believing I had already secured my place and simply needed to add my project once it was ready. As a loyal Kiro user, being told now that I no longer qualify feels disheartening, especially after investing so much time, effort, and planning. I was on the verge of launching a comprehensive social media campaign to share my journey and the progress I’ve made on my products.

Beyond my main entries, I’ve also developed additional tools for the community — including an Astro countdown component to the submission deadline and a dev diary component that aggregates diary entries, GitHub activity, social media posts, and Ghost blog updates. These were intended to help other entrants share their own stories.

A significant amount of work, creativity, and commitment has gone into this project, and it’s incredibly frustrating to feel this effort might be disregarded due to a rule that wasn’t clearly communicated from the start.

Hi there, our update that went out on July 25th before the cap states "we are capping the number of registrants for the Code with Kiro hackathon at approximately 10,000."
